 Pope Shenouda III Christ came to save mankind from sins. It is written that "He will save His people from their sins" (Matt. 1:21). St. Paul the Apostle said: "Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief" (I Tim. 1: 15), that He "gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed" (Titus 2:14), and that He "has redeemed us from the curse of the law" (Gal. 3:13).
