Christ WAS before the whole world existed, or rather, before all ages. In His soliloquy with the Father, He said' to Him: "And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with you before the world was" (Jn. 17:5), and: "For You loved Me before the foundation of the world' (Jn. 17:24). Therefore Christ WAS before the foundation of the world.
